This is a short description about how to link to a pdf, doc,

 ... document in Joomla 1.7.0 using the editor JCE.

You can get the editor from http://extensions.joomla.org search for JCE

JCE is my (Claus Olsen) personal choice.

First: Get the file to your Joomla installation. Do that by using Media Manager, log into Joomla from "website"/administrator and click Media Manager icon in the menu. Or from the menu -> Content -> Media Manager.The first time ? Get your documents in order from the very first upload, create a folder, for example "pdf" to handle all your pdf documents in the website.

All files in the Media Manager have this path: "domain"/media

We did make a folder "pdf", and the file wil be here: "domain"/media/pdf/file.pdf - good to know if you do it.

Link from JCE editor will be: Click insert/edit link 

Click on the document+

Go to the pdf folder:

Click on the file and click insert

Write some Text for the link

And insert again to get out :-)

And you are done ?
